Amyl and the Sniffers are trading the mosh pit for the honky-tonk on Truth or Consequence, a new live album and concert film arriving this fall.
Recorded at Los Angeles’ El Coyote restaurant on April 28th, 2025, the project captures the Australian punk rockers putting a spin on their discography as they “cover their own songs” with a country twang. The intimate showcase also includes two previously unreleased tracks and a cover of Australian country singer Slim Dusty’s “Lights on the Hill.”

Longtime collaborator John Angus Stewart, who previously directed the band’s videos for “Hertz,” “Guided by Angels,” “U Should Not Be Doing That,” and several others, filmed the performance in front of an increasingly rowdy audience.
Truth or Consequence, the concert film, will begin screening at select theaters around the world on August 27th, with US theatrical dates to be announced. The accompanying live album arrives September 4th via Virgin Music Group and is available to pre-order now.
The project marks the second release of live footage from Amyl and the Sniffers in less than a year, while continuing the band’s long-running collaboration with Stewart. He previously filmed the group performing Comfort to Me at Melbourne’s Williamstown Docks and captured a three-song hometown set for 2022’s Live at Forum Theatre. More recently, Stewart directed December’s Live at Ally Pally, which documented the band’s biggest headline show to date at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Amyl and the Sniffers were stateside in June as part of a run announced late last year. Following their current stretch of European shows, the band will return to the US on October 1st in Dallas before playing both weekends of Austin City Limits and concerts in Atlanta, Raleigh, Nashville, and New Orleans. Outside the band, frontwoman Amy Taylor also recently contributed the original song “Nobody’s Son” to the soundtrack for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
