Ahead of her musical guest spot on SNL this weekend, Anitta has dropped a massive new collaboration with Shakira called “Choka Choka.”
The bilingual track finds Anitta performing in Spanish and Shakira in Portuguese, with the goal of “building the narrative of a woman who doesn’t conform to conventions, but rather one who knows her strength and chooses to use it,” according to a press release. “The lyrics are a feminine statement that blends body, voice, and spirituality.”
Anitta further expanded on the song’s intention, explaining that “Choka Choka” is “about a free woman—self-aware, cheeky, complex, and incredibly powerful. Elements that have always been part of my universe.”
“Choka Choka” appears on Anitta’s upcoming album EQUILIBRIVM, which will arrive on April 16th. Anitta will perform the song for the first time on SNL (presumably with Shakira?).
Shakira, meanwhile, just announced a new US leg of her 2026 “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.”
