Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica reboot (at least, the first few seasons) ranks as one of the best sci-fi TV shows of all time. So it’s the best possible news to find out that after several years in streaming limbo, the Sci-Fi Channel series will be coming to Paramount+ as well as Pluto TV in May.

This includes the original 2003 miniseries (which served as a pilot for the show), all four seasons of its original run, and the 2009 spinoff movie The Plan. Paramount+ will also be exclusively streaming the 2010 prequel spinoff series Caprica. The release does not contain any news about the 2007 spinoff movie Razor or web series Blood and Chrome, which remain in limbo.

Based on the sci-fi series created by Glen A. Larson in 1978, Battlestar Galactica was one of the 2000s’ most critically acclaimed series for its fearless use of sci-fi as an allegory for political issues of the day, starring Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell alongside a fleet of Canadian and British actors.
