Blu DeTiger has announced her sophomore album, N.Y. Baby, due out on November 6th. She’s also shared the album’s title track — featuring the one and only Flavor Flav, Holly Walker, and Say She She — which joins previously released singles “Whisper,” “Shock!”, and “Feel Good.”
The new LP was produced by Robin Hannibal and Dan Edinberg, with additional contributions coming from DeTiger’s drummer brother, Rex DeTiger. A press release promises “additoonal star-studded guest appearances,” including a collaboration with Jon Batiste called “Rize.”
“Being a New Yorker is such a huge part of who I am, and ‘N.Y. Baby’ is me fully embracing that,” DeTiger said of the title track in a press statement. “I’m restless, independent, curious; I love movement, meeting people, and not knowing exactly where a night is going to end. There’s something about this city that always tempts you to keep going, to stay out a little later, meet one more person, hear one more song. I wanted the song to capture that feeling of letting go of control and surrendering to wherever the night takes you.”
