Cage the Elephant are back to announce their seventh album, Dying in Reverse, out on February 5th via Big Loud Rock. They’ve also shared the album’s latest single, “Make It Easy.”
Dying in Reverse follows 2024’s Neon Pill and serves as Cage’s first album since departing from longtime label home RCA to the Nashville-based label Big Loud Rock. The project began to take shape after Cage’s stint opening for Oasis’ reunion tour dates in the US back in 2025; it was produced by Justin Raisen and his brother Jeremiah Raisen (A.K.A SADPONY) and commemorates the band’s 20th anniversary, having been formed in Kentucky by brothers Matt and Brad Shultz in 2006.

“This record turned out to be such a special one for us,” Matt Shlutz said in a statement. “It’s without a doubt, one of the most creatively gratifying experiences we’ve had as a group yet. After all these years already remaining so tightly knit, it really does feel like this album managed to pull us even closer together. In a way, it’s a goodbye to the past, closing the door on an era, with a renewed perspective grounded in the present while also walking towards the future with hope and gratitude. Signifying a rebirth of sorts. It’s got all these interesting little windows into the memories and experiences that have shaped who we are as individuals, as well as ultimately a band. I just love it so much. We can’t wait to share it with the world.”
“Make It Easy” is the band’s newest offering, following prior singles “Beaches in Tennessee” and “Dying in Reverse.” With a laid back groove and warm guitars, the new finds Matt Shultz pleading to let bygones be bygones as “blood’s thicker than stone.” The track features some lovely harmonies, especially in the chorus as Shultz’s declares “If heaven ain’t in what we got/ Imma keep on climbing.” The band also gave “Make It Easy” its debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week; watch their performance here, and scroll on to stream “Make It Easy” below.
The group have yet to announce a formal North American tour in support of Dying in Reverse, but they do have some 2027 shows in Europe and South America planned.
