Carrie Underwood threw on a backwards red baseball cap a la Fred Durst, and went full nu-metal at a recent concert with covers of hits by Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and Papa Roach.
The country-pop superstar displayed her love of heavy music during her show at the Velocity Festival that took place at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, on Saturday, September 5th.
About halfway into her 23-song set, Underwood performed Collective Soul’s “Shine” before ripping through Papa Roach’s “Scars,” Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer,” and Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff.” She went full Durst during the Bizkit cover, strutting around the stage while donning the aforementioned backwards red cap.
Later on in the set, she broke out a cover of Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child o’ Mine.”
Underwood is no stranger to hard-rock music, having performed onstage with Guns N’ Roses and collaborated with Papa Roach on the song “Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark).”
