Charli XCX has released “Camera,” the final single off her upcoming album Music, Fashion, Film.
Featuring a film-centric theme — likely inspired by Charli’s recent foray into the medium, including her own 2026 film The Moment and acting in projects like Erupcja, The Gallerist, and I Want Your Sex — “Camera” finds Charli debating whether or not she wants to fully pivot away from being a pop star. “Do I wanna make music? Am I being fucking stupid/ If I try to be a girl on the screen when I’m turning 34?,” she sings, eventually landing on the idea that the vulnerability of being on camera is a worthy experience: “It’s the only way to feel like I’m not actually me”
The song, which reprises the rock-tinged direction found in prior singles “Rock Music,” “SS26,” and “Wink Wink,” also arrives with a music video helmed by frequent collaborator Aidan Zamiri. The visual, filmed all in one take, stars French actor Vincent Cassel alongside Charli and a film crew; throughout, they attempt to shoot a sequence where Cassel is hit with a bullet, though each take is interrupted by technical errors. Charli plays director, her gaze fixed on Cassel as he spirals on set. Watch the video for “Camera” below.
Charli XCX will release Music, Fashion, Film, her seventh album, on Friday, July 24th. She’ll support the album with the “Music, Fashion, Film Tour,” a fall 2026 North American arena run kicking off in September; Charli will also headline Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits this year.
