Charli XCX Gives Her Top 5 Underrated Films

Charli XCX love of film and her pivot towards the medium is out there for all to see. Now, some of her favorite films are also out there.

In an interview with Scott Lipps on his Lipps Service podcast, the pop singer gave her top five underrated film. She started with Robert Altman’s Prêt-à-Porter, saying “I think the cast is incredible,” and “It’s so fun to me, and I think it’s a great fashion movie.” She also said she thinks a lot of M. Night Shyamalan films are underrated and singled out The Happening, saying it’s “very fun.”

She also categorized Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring as one of her favorite underrated films. “I think it gets better and better with age because it’s such a time capsule of that era,” she said. Bringing Out the Dead, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Nicholas Cage, made Charli’s list as well with the singer describing Cage’s performance as “amazing.” David Lynch’s The Straight Story, the story of a man traveling on a lawn mower, rounded out her list with Charli saying it’s “beautiful.”
