One of the themes of Wicked is that sometimes Cynthia Erivo has to take matters into her own hands. After a fan breach caught security napping, she did just that, protecting co-star Ariana Grande with a forcefulness that the harasser won’t soon forget.
The incident took place at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good, which arrives in US theaters on November 21st. A small-time influencer with a notorious reputation (we won’t be linking to his page) charged at Grande and began jumping up and down while holding her shoulder, as the pop star struggled to free herself.
Fan footage captured the assault from every angle. But the best POVs show an enraged Erivo flexing some serious muscle and absolutely bodying him out of the way, giving security time to catch up. If this whole beloved-international-superstar thing doesn’t work out for Erivo, well, the Green Bay Packers are looking for a right guard. Check out footage below.
