Dennis Haskins, who famously played Principal Richard Belding on the beloved ’90s TV sitcom Saved By the Bell, has died at the age of 75.
Haskins’ agent confirmed his passing to TMZ on Monday. A cause of death was not immediately shared.
Haskins played Belding across multiple iterations of Saved by the Bell, beginning with 1988’s Good Morning, Miss Bliss. When the original Disney Channel comedy was canceled after one season and retooled for NBC as Saved by the Bell, Haskins was one of the few cast members to make the transition.
He went on to portray Belding throughout all four seasons of Saved by the Bell, which ran from 1989 to 1993, and later reprised the role on the spin-off Saved by the Bell: The New Class from 1993 to 2000. He also made a guest appearance on Saved by the Bell: The College Years. In 2015, he reunited alongside many of the original Saved By the Bell cast members for a sketch on The Tonight Show.
Outside of Saved by the Bell, Haskins’ credits included appearances on The Dukes of Hazzard, The West Wing, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men, New Girl, and Hot in Cleveland.
