Dinosaur Jr. has announced There Near, their 13th album, out on August 28th via Jagjaguwar. They’ve also shared the lead single, “Several Got Away,” and announced a fall 2026 US tour.

There Near serves as Dinosaur Jr.’s first new album since 2021’s Sweep It Into SpaceIt was recorded over the course of a year at Bisquiteen Studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, by the core trio of J Mascis, Murph, and Lou Barlow. Mascis played much of the album on a 70’s Mesa Boogie MK 1 amp, the same amp that engineer Chris Dixon had when they recorded their 1985 debut album. “You always hear how Rick Rubin always makes bands he’s producing sit down and listen to their first album and say let’s get back to that sound. So I just gave myself his advice,” Mascis said in a statement.

They’ll support the new LP with a fall 2026 US tour. The new dates follow the band’s previously announced co-headlining shows alongside Band of Horses, which run through the US until August 1st. Dinosaur Jr. will then begin their fall North American tour in Las Vegas on October 9th, with dates following in Tempe, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and more. The tour concludes in New Orleans on November 7th; see their full list of tour dates below.

Tickets for Dinosaur Jr.’s upcoming tour are on sale now via Ticketmaster and the band’s official website. For all their co-headlining dates this summer with Band of Horses, tickets are available here.

Dinosaur Jr. have also released the first single off There Near, “Several Got Away.” With some classic Dino Jr. fuzzed-out guitar and a sunny disposition, “Several Got Away” is yet another slacker anthem from the lo-fi rock heroes. Fittingly, Mascis launches into a squealing, whirlwind guitar solo after the bridge, rounding the track out with a reprisal of the chorus. The song arrives with a surreal, wacky music video directed by Guy Kozak; watch it below.
