While Quentin Tarantino continues to stall on whatever will be his 10th movie as a director, that isn’t keeping his past cinematic creations from finding their way to the screen. Deadline reports that Django/Zorro, a 2014 comic book co-written by Tarantino and featuring the titular character from Django Unchained, is being adapted as a new movie by Sony Pictures.
In lieu of Tarantino, Brian Helgeland (who won an Oscar for his adaptation of L.A. Confidential, and also directed the very fun A Knight’s Tale) will be writing the adaptation of the seven-issue Dynamite Entertainment comic book series, which Tarantino wrote with Matt Wagner. In the comics, set several years after the events of the film, Django (originally played by Jamie Foxx) became pals with Don Diego de la Vega, otherwise known as the famed vigilante Zorro.
