Comedy Central has announced it is bringing back Drunk History for three new short-form episodes starting next week, marking the first original installments of the series from Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner in several years.
The new episodes will be uploaded to Comedy Central’s YouTube channel beginning on Tuesday, September 15th. The first will see Meghan Trainor playing Madonna in a retelling of the Queen of Pop’s memorable performance of “Like a Virgin” at the inaugural MTV Video Music Awards.

Another episode will focus on Frances Perkins, who was the first woman ever to serve in a presidential cabinet and a central figure in creating FDR’s New Deal. The third will tell the story of two men’s battle over the world’s largest ball of twine.
Lisa Gilroy, Patton Oswalt, and Marisha Ray will serve as narrators, with other performers including Steve Agee, Tim Baltz, Seth Green, Colin Hanks, Jack McBrayer, Chris Parnell, Johnny Pemberton, Daryl Sabara, Mae Whitman, and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Created by Waters in 2007 as a web series for Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funny or Die, Drunk History sees an inebriated host narrating the reenactment of a historical story by all-star actors.
The show premiered on Comedy Central in July 2013 and ran for six seasons through 2019. It was initially renewed for a seventh season before the network reversed course in 2020.
