New York electronic duo ear have announced their sophomore album, Rumspringa, out on May 29th via A24 Music.

The duo, comprised of Yaelle Avtan and Jonah Paz, make glitchy lo-fi pop inspired by IDM, The Postal Service, and other indie-tronic offshoots. For their second album, they took further inspiration from the Amish tradition of Rumspringa, where young adults are given a chance to leave the community and participate in the outside world in order to reflect on their religion, culture, and upbringing. As such, the band describes Rumspringa as their “choose life” record.

The band previously revealed lead single “Ne Plus Ultra” earlier this month. We named the track one of our Songs of the Week, with Jonah Krueger writing, “Depending on what mood you’re in when you hit play, you can either dance to it, reflect nostalgically, or stare curiously into the future.” Stream it below.
