Ella Langley has set the record for most weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, with the country smash “Choosin’ Texas.” Her breakout song officially entered its 23rd week at the No. 1 spot on the chart on Monday.
Last week, Langley tied Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the most weeks at No. 1, but now there’s a new queen of the chart. Throughout 2026, “Choosin’ Texas” has hit the apex of Billboard’s industry-standard song chart, with its latest run starting July 4th and lasting for 12 weeks and counting.
Jumping on the bandwagon, Drake recently teased a remix of the track featuring Don Toliver, which interpolates the chorus. “Choosin’ Texas” previously spent multi-week stretches at No. 1 in March, April, and May.
Other staggering numbers for the track include more than 1.6 billion global streams and 2.8 billion TikTok views. “Choosin’ Texas” has also broken chart records worldwide, recently becoming the longest-running No. 1 in UK country radio history. In the process, Langley became the first country artist in more than 20 years to top the UK Singles Chart.
The song also became the longest-running No. 1 single by a female artist in Canada and by a country artist in Australia, with Langley also becoming the first solo female country artist to top the Netherlands Airplay chart.
The history-making week is just the latest accomplishment of Langley’s past 12 months. In October 2025, she released the now record-breaking single “Choosin’ Texas,” which topped the Hot 100 and its country charts for the first time the following February. Her next two singles, “Dandelion” and “Be Her,” hit the Top 10 on multiple charts, with the latter reaching No. 2 on the Hot 100 and only blocked from the top slot by “Choosin’ Texas.”
The singles propelled Langley’s sophomore album, Dandelion, to a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts. The record also earned critical praise and set the stage for a sold-out 2026 tour.
More recently, her July single “Loving Life Again” also climbed the charts, along with the Morgan Wallen duet “I Can’t Love You Anymore.” The latter reached No. 4 on the Hot 100. In August, she performed Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” in tribute to the late country icon.
