Korn have surprise-released a new single titled “Reward the Scars.” It is their first new material from the nu-metal pioneers in four years, following the 2022 release of the album Requiem.
The song comes as a collaboration with the upcoming Lords of Hatred expansion for the video game Diablo IV, out April 28th. The track featured production by Nick Raskulinecz, who first began working with the group on their 12th studio album, 2016’s The Serenity of Suffering.
The track also arrives on the eve of Korn’s upcoming appearance at Sick New World this Saturday in Las Vegas followed by a Latin American tour. This year will also see the band performing in Europe in October and November with Architects, Youth Code and Pixel Grip.
Earlier this year, guitarist Brian “Head” Welch told Loudwire that a new studio album wasn’t a priority for the band, which was choosing to focus on live shows. However, in the same interview, he teased potential drops such as “Reward the Scars,” stating, “There could be a couple of surprises this year … We’re going to have some cool announcements for dates around the world and stuff coming this year.”
