Maggie Rogers Returns to Colbert to Perform “Alaska” and “One for My Baby (And One More for the Road)”: Watch

Maggie Rogers returned to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night to perform two songs: her 2017 hit “Alaska” and a cover of the American traditional pop classic “One for My Baby (And One More for the Road).”

For her first performance, Rogers celebrated the 10th anniversary of her song “Alaska” by giving it the acoustic treatment. Surrounded by a string quartet and slowing the song’s tempo to folk-tinged crawl, Rogers provided a luxurious, introspective rendition of her breakout single. She then returned to the stage standing next to a piano and poured her heart out for “One for My Baby (And One More for the Road),” dedicating the song to Colbert ahead of the show’s series finale on May 21st; “Stephen, I know you’re getting ready to close,” she sang, “So thanks for the cheer/ I hope you didn’t mind me bending your ear.” Check out videos of both performances below.

Rogers’ latest performance on Colbert comes nearly two years after she took to the stage to perform “The Kill” from her 2024 album, Don’t Forget Me. In addition to a pair of performances from Rogers, the latest episode of The Late Show also featured a lengthy interview with Meryl Streep ahead of the upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Last weekend, Rogers joined Bruce Springsteen and Jane Fonda at a massive No Kings protest in Minnesota, where she performed the track “Different Kind of World” for an audience of thousands.
