Modest Mouse have released the newest single, “Third Side of the Moon,” from their forthcoming album An Eraser and a Maze.
The song has been a regular at the band’s show since they introduced it two years ago. The sparse, indie rock dirge foregrounds frontman Issac Brock’s vocal performance and lyrics about regret and a death. “I can’t remember if your eyes were green or brown or red/ ‘cause you always spoke in a whisper and I ain’t so good at listening,” he sings.
The band previously released “Look How Far…” and “Picking Dragon’s Pockets.” An Erase and a Maze is set to come out June 5th via Glacial Pace and Virgin Records. Modest Mouse begin a North American tour May 12th. Tickets can be purchased here.
