Olivia Rodrigo, noted fan of the band The Cure, has announced a new single called “the cure” arriving on Friday, May 22nd.
Rodrigo announced the new single today with an Instagram post revealing the single artwork, which depicts Rodrigo holding a red band that’s been stretched out to reveal the words “the cure.” While it’s unknown if the song’s title does indeed refer to the beloved Robert Smith-led band, “Just Like Heaven” was referenced in the first verse of Rodrigo’s recent song “drop dead.” Plus, Smith and Rodrigo are good friends, apparently.

The new song is the second single off Rodrigo’s upcoming album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, out on June 12th. She’s got a massive 2026-2027 tour coming in support of the project; tickets are sold-out, but you can still get them here.
