Orville Peck has announced his new album, Mule, along with a supporting North American fall tour. As a preview of the record, Peck has also released the lead single, “Too Little, Too Late.” Stream it below.
Mule, Peck’s fourth studio album, is set for release September 18th on Warner Records. On the album, Peck explores his struggle with addiction, pursuit of sobriety, and rebuilding himself “with unflinching honesty, humor, and compassion,” a press release said. Through classic country storytelling, bluegrass and expansive Americana, Peck confronts love, loss, and identity.
His 19-date supporting tour, dubbed the “Man Turned Mule Tour,” kicks off proper on October 28th in Sacramento at Channel 24. Peck will then hit Phoenix, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Boston, among others. The tour ends on November 22nd in Huntington, New York at The Paramount. Abbie Callahan will provide support.
VIP ticket packages go on sale Monday, July 27th at 10:00 a.m. local time. An artist pre-sale begins Tuesday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. local time through Orvillepeck.com. Tickets for Citi cardmembers will also be available for a pre-sale in select markets beginning Tuesday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m local time until Thursday, July 30 at 10:00 p.m. The general on-sale starts Friday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.
For every ticket sold, $1 will be donated to The Trevor Project, supporting its mission to provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people, the press release said.
Lead single “Too Little, Too Late” was written by Peck with Dan Wilson, who has worked with The Chicks, and Steve Rusch, a Beyoncé and Jessie Murph collaborator. The song was produced by Jay Joyce, whose credits include helming Patty Griffin and Eric Church recordings.
On the track, Peck sings about having moved on when your ex comes crawling back in a “raucous, dirt-kicking country-pop banger that feels like pure clap-along freedom,” the press release said. “Ooh they say, good things come to those who wait/ Too little, too late” he croons. “I’m always up, you don’t even have to ask/ So save your breath, you’ll need it dear/ It’s cold out on that limb, I hear.”
Earlier this month, Peck released Mule’s opening track “Prologue (Eulogy of a Man Turned Mule),” a song sung by Emmylou Harris, Noah Cyrus, and Allison Russell.
Peck is continuing a busy and diverse stretch, having, in 2025, made his Broadway debut in a run with Cabaret and wrapped filming on Street Fighter, in which he plays the masked Vega. He released the EP Appaloosa in November. His latest studio album is 2024’s Stampede.
