An interactive Ozzy Osbourne digital avatar is in production via Hyperreal as announced during the “The Enduring Legacy of a Rock Icon and His Family: Ozzy Osbourne and The Osbournes” panel at Licensing Expo 2026.

Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne said the project embodies “the digital DNA of Ozzy Osbourne, voice, image [and] movement.”

He continued, “It’s kind of scary how it’s really very accurate. He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it’s almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It’s that simple now.”

Hyperreal has previously produced a digitally de-aged avatar of Paul McCartney for a collaborative music video with Beck released in 2021, as well as the digital interactive avatar of comic book legend Stan Lee for the 2025 Los Angeles Comic Con.

The project mirrors similar digital avatar projects from artists like KISS and Ronnie James Dio. Sharon Osbourne previously commented on the potential of such a project, including hologram concerts by the original Black Sabbath lineup.

Sharon was also at the Licensing Expo, saying of the avatar, “You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice – and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said. We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back.”

Earlier in the panel she said, “Elvis died 50 years ago, and everybody knows Elvis. I just want that for Ozzy.”
