Rosie O’Donnell has announced that she’ll be joining the cast of Broadway’s ongoing production of The Rocky Horror Show for a limited two-week run.

O’Donnell will be performing the role of The Narrator, taking over for current Narrator Rachel Dratch from October 6th-18th. Her turn in Rocky Horror will mark O’Donnell’s fourth overall appearance on Broadway and her first in 20 years, having previously appeared in productions of Fiddler on the Roof (2006),  Seussical! (2001), and Grease (1994). She’s been active over the years Off-Broadway, most recently headlining a one-woman show Common Knowledge earlier this year.

O’Donnell’s return to Broadway follows her recent stint guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she mocked her longtime foe at the White House (“Hi! I know you’re watching”), opened up about her experience living in Ireland, and welcomed a guest lineup that included Hannah Waddingham, Ana Gasteyer, Jean Smart, Richard Gadd, Charlie Day, Janelle James, Megan Mullally, and Nick Offerman. The multi-night appearance, which was a ratings success, marked a full-circle return to the talk show desk for O’Donnell nearly three decades after The Rosie O’Donnell Show made her one of daytime TV’s defining hosts.

The Rocky Horror Show is running at Studio 54 in New York, with tickets on sale through February 28, 2027. The cast currently features Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears as Dr. Frank-N-Furter — the role popularized by the late Tim Curry in the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show — along with Lorna Courtney, Kevin McHale, Amber Gray, George Salazar, Valentina, and more.
