At Trump’s Urging, Paramount Greenlights Rush Hour 4 with Brett Ratner

Bowing to pressure from Donald Trump, Paramount has committed to distributing Rush Hour 4 with Brett Ratner directing, Matthew Belloni of Puck reports. Jackie Chan, 71, and Chris Tucker, 54, would return to star.

Paramount is considering purchasing Warner Bros. Discovery, which would require FCC approval. And Paramount is no stranger to that process, kowtowing to the White House ahead of a merger with Skydance.

Rush Hour 4 has been kicking around since at least 2019, but film has had a hard time finding a willing distributor. In 2017, he was credibly accused of sexual misconduct by six women. His return from cancelation had been slow until this year, when he began directing a documentary on First Lady Melania Trump, which required him to stay at Mar-a-Lago in an eight-bedroom house.
