Sepultura have announced their final show ever, set to take place November 7th at São Paulo’s Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in the band’s home country of Brazil. The concert will feature support from the all-star collective Metal Allegiance, Krisiun, and Sacred Reich, with more acts to be announced.
Tickets go on sale for this final performance on May 30th at 10 a.m. local time (9 a.m. ET) via Ticketmaster.
The evening is intended as a celebration of Sepultura’s entire history. The venue holds a special significance for Sepultura, as it was at at that stadium in 1991 that they performed a landmark show to 30,000 fans, more than three times what police were expecting.
Sepultura will also be joined onstage by founding members Jean Dolabella and Jairo Guedz as well as other musicians connected to the band’s over 40 year history. However, Max and Iggor Cavalera turned down an invite to reunite with the band.
Sepultura are currently finishing their final North American tour with the last date coming on May 29th (tickets here) before heading to Europe for a summer run (tickets here).
