After two weekends of surprise guests and massive crowds in Madrid, Shakira is ready to take her residency worldwide.
The Colombian superstar will livestream her October 3rd concert from Estadio Shakira globally through Amazon Music, Prime Video, the Amazon Music channel on Twitch. The broadcast begins at 8:45 p.m. local time (2:45 p.m. ET), with a replay available for 24 hours afterward. According to EFE. It will mark the first time one of Shakira’s full concerts has been livestreamed globally.
The broadcast comes halfway through Shakira’s 12-show Madrid residency, which has already delivered its share of one-off moments. During its second weekend, Alejandro Sanz joined her for “La Tortura” and “Corazón Partío,” marking the first time Shakira had performed the latter live. Manuel Turizo also appeared for “Copa Vacía,” while Spanish rapper Ptazeta joined her for “Somos las de la Intuición.”
Those appearances followed an opening weekend that saw Laura Pausini surprise Shakira for the first-ever live duet of “Antología.” Shakira also used the opening three concerts to rotate songs including “Te Dejo Madrid,” “Si Te Vas,” and “Última” into the set, while approximately 165,000 fans attended across the first weekend.
The scale of the residency extends well beyond Spain. Nearly half of its tickets were purchased by international fans representing 67 countries, according to figures reported around the opening of the run.
