Spider-Man has single-handedly (well, with the help of Hulk and Punisher and spoiler) beat back the Avengers. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has made a record-setting $360 million domestic box office in its opening weekend, beating the record previously held by Avengers: Endgame. (It also beat out a lot of past Spider-Man movies in our rankings.)

The new Sony and Marvel co-production opened in 4,487 North American screens and drew in $5 million more than Sunday projections (via The Hollywood Reporter). That puts it past the $357.1 million Endgame brought in back in April 2019 from 4,662 screens.

What’s more, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already made $927 million globally, surpassing the $911.4 made by The Odyssey since it opened three weeks ago. Avengers: Endgame ended its run with $2.799 billion, and is the fasted film to hit $2 billion, taking just 11 days.
