For the first time ever, reggae legends Stephen Marley and Buju Banton are joining forces for a US summer tour.
The aptly-titled “Roots And Rhymes Tour” kicks June 17th in Redmond, WA and hits up Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Boston, Bethel, Portsmouth, and Raleigh, among other locales, before winding down on July 25th in Atlanta. Splackavelli will perform DJ sets throughout the tour, and the collective will be joined by Gramps Morgan for select dates.

“I’m looking forward to sharing this experience with fans, friends, and well-wishers, and I’m sure Stephen Marley feels the same,” said Banton in a statement. “It’s a moment in time to experience the awesome display of reggae music and dancehall music presented by reggae warriors. Love you all and we’ll see you on the road!”
Added Marley, “Looking forward to sharing the stage this summer with my longtime friend Buju Banton. We have shared a long musical journey, so it’s always a blessing to get together like this. It’s going to be a powerful celebration of reggae and dancehall — see you on the road.”
But the tour’s not just about promoting a good time, either. The pair are also fundraising for Jamaica, with $2 from every ticket being split between the Ghetto Youths Foundation (founded by Stephen, Damian, and Julian Marley) and the Buju Banton Foundation.
