System of a Down’s Daron Malakian was serving up more Oasis disses at the second of two concerts at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night, July 15th.

This time around, SOAD were performing while England was taking on Argentina in the semifinals of the World Cup, with Malakian offering updates on the soccer match, and thanking the fans for showing up to the concert despite the game going on at the same time.

A concertgoer compiled clips on Instagram of Malakian’s mentions of the World Cup during the concert, with the crowd cheering when the guitarist-singer announced that England had scored first. However, when he reported that Argentina had tied it up 1-1, the crowd booed, with Malakian saying, “If you guys lose, I blame Oasis.” At another point he’s heard saying, “Don’t boo me, boo Oasis.”

England went on to lose 2-1 when Argentina scored another late-game goal. The team had a close connection to Oasis throughout the World Cup, singing “Wonderwall” with fans in the audience each time they won a game.

Two nights earlier, Malakian led the London crowd in a chant of “pull Oasis out of your ass,” changing up the words to the song “Needles.”

Malakian’s contempt of Oasis comes from Noel Gallagher’s quotes about System of a Down from 25 years ago. The Oasis guitarist said of SOAD in a radio interview, “I’m actually alive to hear the shittiest band of all time.”

SOAD are set to headline the Sick New World festival in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 24th, with tickets available here.
