If you look at the initials involved, it almost feels like fate: Taylor Swift has announced that she’s written and performed a new song for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack called “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which millions of families will get to hear on Friday, June 5th.

“I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,” Swift wrote in a social media post announcing the song’s release. “I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”

The song was co-written and co-produced by Swift’s longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff and inspired by “Jessie’s ongoing journey in Toy Story 5 that began back in Toy Story 2.” A press release also notes that “I Knew It, I Knew You” marks a return to Swift’s “country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist.”

Pre-orders for three different collector’s edition CD versions of the song are now available through Swift’s website.

Up to now, Randy Newman has defined the lyrical soul of the Toy Story franchise with the anthem “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” tear-jerking “When She Loved Me” (which Sarah McLachlan performed for the Toy Story 2 soundtrack), and Oscar-winning “We Belong Together” (featured in Toy Story 3).

Swift has a long history with movie soundtracks, beginning with two songs for Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009), followed by some original tracks for The Hunger Games films, a collaboration with Zayn for Fifty Shades Darker, and a collaboration with Andrew Lloyd Webber for the infamous 2019 musical Cats. She has yet to receive an Oscar nomination for any of her contributions, though — considering that Newman has been Oscar-nominated for every single one of his Toy Story songs, a TS/TS collaboration might break that streak.

Toy Story 5 premieres on June 19th.
