The Chicks stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform “Not Ready to Make Nice,” a track from their 2006 album Taking the Long Way.

Donned in scarlet red and with moody, fiery lighting flooding the stage, The Chicks brought a passionate and heartfelt rendition of one of their biggest hits to their Kimmel performance. Originally written in response to the backlash The Chicks received following Natalie Maines’ critical comments about George Bush and the War in Iraq in 2003, the song’s message of holding true to your beliefs, along with its anti-war premise, remains poignant and relevant 20 years later. Watch The Chicks rip through “Not Ready to Make Nice” below.
