What’s New for the 2026 Christmas Spectacular?

This year’s production is the largest in the show’s history, with 230 scheduled performances — the most ever staged at Radio City Music Hall since the Christmas Spectacular debuted back in 1933. That expansion comes directly on the heels of a blockbuster 2025 season, which drew more than 1.2 million visitors from all 50 states and 125 countries across 216 shows, making it the production’s highest-attended run in a quarter century.

The Rockettes are also debuting a brand-new tenth number this year, joining long-running favorites like “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” “New York at Christmas,” “12 Days of Christmas,” and “Dance of the Frost Fairies.” According to Jessica Tuttle, MSG Entertainment’s Executive Vice President of Productions, the new scene is designed to “showcase the versatility of the Rockettes while honoring the dance traditions that are foundational to their legacy.”

Alongside the new number, MSG Entertainment is rolling out new immersive technology that promises to bring audiences physically closer to the dancers’ precision work than in previous years, offering a range of vantage points throughout the theater. It builds on a production that’s already leaned heavily into tech in recent seasons — expansive digital projections, holographic effects, and fairy drones have all become part of the show’s visual language. The Sphere Immersive Sound system, which debuted for the 2025 centennial run and uses 3D audio beamforming to deliver consistent sound regardless of where you’re seated, will remain part of the production this year as well.

What Is The Rockettes’ “Christmas Spectacular”?

Now entering its second century, the Christmas Spectacular remains one of New York’s defining holiday traditions. Founded in 1925, the Rockettes are the longest-running precision dance company in America, known for their signature Rockettes Precision Dance Technique — a blend of ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary dance. Since the show’s 1933 premiere at Radio City, more than 73 million people have seen it.

Beyond the Christmas Spectacular, the Rockettes make annual appearances at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree lighting, and have shown up everywhere from the Tony Awards and MTV VMAs to Saturday Night Live and NYC Pride.

What Are The Rockettes’ 2026-2027 Performance Dates?

The Christmas Spectacular runs November 4th, 2026, through January 4th, 2027, with 230 total performances — the most extensive schedule in the show’s 93-year history. As in past years, expect the performance frequency to ramp up as the season progresses, with daily shows becoming standard once the calendar moves deeper into November and multiple performances per day during the peak December stretch.
