The Strokes have announced a new album titled Reality Awaits. Update: The album, produced by Rick Rubin, will be released on June 26th via Cult/RCA Records. The first single, “Going Shopping,” was initially sent to fans via cassette tape, then debuted live in San Francisco, and is now available on DSPs.
In a short teaser video posted to their social media accounts, The Strokes confirmed that their seventh album will arrive this summer. “In the flesh, it’s even sexier,” reads the teaser, which features an image of a vintage car. “Reality Awaits, the new album by The Strokes. Out this summer.” Watch the teaser below.
The Strokes recently returned to the stage with a pair of underplay shows in San Francisco. The band will also perform major sets this year at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Shaky Knees, and several more festivals. Get tickets to see The Strokes here.
