Travis Barker revealed that blink-182 are working on a new album this year during an all-encompassing interview with The New York Times‘ Popcast.
The drummer is promoting his new documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, which is set to premiere August 13th on Hulu.
When asked what else he has coming up in addition to producing and playing drums on the new Alkaline Trio album, he responded, “I’m starting a couple of other projects, like producing projects, working on the next blink album.”
When pressed on whether the band was working on the album this year or next year, Barker added, “Working on the blink album this year.”
With the band working on the album this year, a 2027 release is most likely. The next blink-182 album will be their 10th overall, and the follow-up to 2023’s One More Time…, which marked the return of founding singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge after an eight-year absence.
Elsewhere in the interview, Barker discusses his 2008 plane crash, his marriage to Kourtney Kardashian, and more. The new blink-182 album revelation comes at the end of the interview at the 55:25 mark.
Fans may get a chance to hear some new blink-182 music when the band embarks on a June 2027 European tour of festivals and headlining concerts. Tickets for those shows are available here.
Meanwhile, Barker is set to join Billie Joe Armstrong, Tim Armstrong, and CJ Ramone for a performance of Ramones songs during an official celebration of the 50th anniversary of the legendary punk band’s debut album on August 30th at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
