Turnstile offered up an inspired cover of the song “Burning Fight” for BBC 1’s “Live Lounge Late” session. The tune was originally recorded by Zack de la Rocha’s pre-Rage Against the Machine band Inside Out.
The song appeared as the lead track on Inside Out’s lone release, the 1990 EP No Spiritual Surrender, a year before de la Rocha formed Rage Against the Machine. Turnstile’s rendition finds the Baltimore band remaining true to the original track’s hardcore vibe, with singer Brendan Yates delivering an incendiary vocal performance.
The session also included performances of the songs “I CARE” and DULL” off Turnstile’s latest album, NEVER ENOUGH.
Turnstile are slated to play the Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City this Friday, May 15th, followed by Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee, on June 12th.
From there, they have a number of US and international festival dates booked through October, including Osheaga, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Bumbershoot, Austin City Limits, and more (pick up tickets here).
