Violet Grohl stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform “Bug in the Cake,” a rousing track from her recently-released album Be Sweet to Me. Update: Grohl has also announced a new stretch of 2026 headlining tour dates taking place in the fall.
Serving as her TV debut, the performance saw Violet Grohl composed and focused while her band — especially drummer Anthony Paul Lopez — exploded with energy behind her. It was a faithful rendition of “Bug in the Cake,” with the song’s vocal harmonies above Grohl shining in the live context; while Grohl never quite let loose, it was nonetheless a gratifying display of her ’90s-coded songwriting and her raw power at the microphone. Grohl has also announced a new slate of headlining tour dates in support of Be Sweet to Me. In between fall festivals like Riot Fests, Shaky Knees, CBGB, All Things Go, and Corona Capital, Grohl will also perform shows in Milwaukee, South Burlington, Boston, Vancouver, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, and more.
