World Cup Halftime Show to Feature Dynamic Trio of Madonna, BTS, and Shakira

FIFA has lined up three of pop music’s biggest names to headline the halftime show of the 2026 World Cup finale: Madonna, BTS, and Shakira will all take the stage for an all-star performance at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19th.

The halftime show is curated by Global Citizen and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, with the added goal of raising $100 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The fund aims to expand access to education and football for children around the world.

FIFA previously announced separate opening ceremony performances for the World Cup taking place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, featuring an array of artists ranging from Alanis Morissette and Katy Perry to Tyla and Future to Maná and Los Angeles Azules.

BTS are amid their comeback “ARIRANG World Tour,” while Shakira recently confirmed a new run of US tour dates kicking off in June. Madonna is gearing up to release her new album, Confessions II, on July 3rd.

Along with performing at the halftime show, Shakira is also contributing to one of the official anthems for the 2026 World Cup. She’s teamed up with Burna Boy for a new track called “Dai Dai,” set to arrive later today (May 14th). It her second World Cup anthem following 2010’s “Waka Waka.”
