Zac Brown Band surprised more than 37,000 fans at Fenway Park on Sunday night by giving every person in attendance a free cruise for two.
Brown announced the giveaway shortly before the band performed its 2021 song “Same Boat,” saying to the crowd, “Tonight we’re going to do something even Jimmy would say is crazy. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat.” The giveaway is valued at more than $40 million and was billed by organizers as the largest surprise audience gift in live entertainment history.

The gesture was tied to Zac Brown Band’s ongoing partnership with Margaritaville at Sea, which is presenting the group’s 27-date Love & Fear Tour. The cruise company had already been offering four fans at each tour stop a chance to win a trip for two aboard its forthcoming Beachcomber ship, but the Fenway promotion extended the offer to the entire crowd.
Set to begin sailing from Miami in January 2027, Beachcomber will house Same Boat, a live music venue co-designed by Brown and named after his collaboration with the late Jimmy Buffett. The space is being promoted as the first artist-curated live music venue at sea and will feature programming, artwork, and design elements selected with Brown’s involvement.
Sunday’s concert also marked Zac Brown Band’s 15th consecutive sold-out appearance at Fenway Park, where the group holds the record for the most concert tickets sold by an artist. The band’s “Love & Fear Tour” continues through November.
