Zach Bryan has revealed a brand new song, “Breakfast in Bed.”
The acoustic-led track finds Bryan in a more contemplative mode, describing a character who has reached a personal low and is, for lack of a better phrase, going through it. “You’re only human, we all know it too/ Does that make your vices, a crutch or the truth,” he asks in the second verse, later landing on the sobering claim that “You ain’t half the man that you are in your head.” It’s a sparse-but-poetic offering from the singer-songwriter, whose soulful vocal approach cuts right to the bone. “Breakfast in Bed” arrives without a streaming debut or formal announcement; Bryan simply uploaded the track to his YouTube page on Thursday evening. It follows his January release With Heaven on Top, Bryan’s sixth album; he also revealed an all-acoustic version of the record shortly after its release.
