South Carolina Ballet invites you to experience the enchanting world of A Midsummer Night's Dream, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn's iconic score. This production brings Shakespeare's beloved comedy to life through a captivating blend of dance and music, transporting audiences to a fantastical realm where love, magic and mischief intertwine. Set in an enchanted forest, the ballet follows the adventures of four young lovers and a group of actors who become entangled in the whimsical disputes of the fairy king and queen. Mendelssohn's evocative music, perfectly captures the play's ethereal atmosphere and has become synonymous with Shakespeare's work. Under the artistic direction of William Starrett, this production showcases a harmonious blend of classical ballet and theatrical storytelling. Audiences will be mesmerized by the intricate choreography, lavish costumes, and imaginative sets that bring the magical forest and its inhabitants to life.

Continue straight through the Evans to Locks intersection. Travel approximately 0.5 miles and turn left onto Market Street. This is the back entrance to the Performing Arts Center that will bring you to the Box Office, Surface Lot and Parking Deck.
