In celebration of America's 250th anniversary, American Portraits is a vibrant mixed repertory program honoring the nation's artistic spirit. The program features Stars and Stripes Pas de Deux by George Balanchine, a dazzling display of neoclassical energy and patriotic flair. Also included is To Heal by Christopher Stuart, a moving work set to Gospel music reflecting faith and resilience. Appalachian Spring by Paul Vasterling brings Copland's iconic score to life with warmth and optimism inspired by the American frontier. Rounding out the program is Dispersal by Christopher Stuart, a contemporary exploration of motion and connection. Together, these works celebrate generations of American choreography and creativity.
