Arcoiris Sandoval is a jazz pianist, arranger, composer, and Fulbrightaward recipient currently residing in New York City originally from Tucson,Arizona. Legendary jazz pianist George Cables considers her one of hisfavorite young pianists and composers and the great jazz pianist BennyGreen has said she is a true musical healer and peacemaker; shes whatthe world needs now!. She leads her own trio and quintet project called Sonic Asylum and is the Co-Director of an award winning multimedia orchestra called TheD.O.M.E. Experience along with acclaimed bassist and composer MimiJones which aims to raise environmental and social awareness byintegrating orchestral composition, choreography and immersivecinematography. Her Sonic Asylum trio and quintet project was featured at Lincoln Center Out of Doors in 2025, Marthas Vineyard Jazz and Blues Summerfest, NYCWinter Jazzfest in 2024, the Kennedy Center, Vermont Jazz EmergingArtist festival, Milt Hinton Jazz Perspectives Concert Series and in 2024,she was a South Arts Jazz Road grant recipient which allowed her to tourwith her trio throughout the US. She has won a Chamber Music AmericaPerformance Plus grant for this ensemble to work with Billy Childs and heroriginal composition Journey to Agartha which is published in Terri LyneCarringtons compilation called New Standards, 101 Lead Sheets byWomen Composers was recently recorded by George Cables on hislatest album I Hear Echoes.She arranged, toured, recorded and was the MD for vocalist Allan Harris for over five years. On his album Live at Blue Llama which was number one on JazzWeek for several weeks, she arranged several tracks includingNature Boy and Sunny. She has written, conducted and performedstring arrangements with notable vocalist Tammy McCann at LincolnCenter which were also performed at the Music Institute of Chicago. Herorchestral arrangement of Richard Bonas hit song Please Dont Stophas been performed by Richard Bona with the Metropole Orkest at the2016 and 2017 BBC Proms tribute to Quincy Jones. She currently tours and performs with acclaimed bassist and composer Endea Owens, vocalist Tammy McCann, actress Lea DeLaria, Mimi Jones and vocalist Svetlana.
