An explosive night of post rock and heavy guitar music lands in London on August 20 at The Grace, Islington.  

Gothenburg/Malmö-based post rock power trio Barrens return with Corpse Lights, the band’s second full-length release following their 2020 debut Penumbra. Five years in the making, Corpse Lights sees Barrens strike a balance between light and dark; beauty and brutality; the calm and the chaos.  

Recorded and produced by Kristofer Jönson and mixed and mastered by Cult of Luna’s Magnus Lindberg, shimmering synthesizers and sprawling guitars lead the charge propelled by drums and percussion, with space, silence and atmosphere as another instrument. The result is Corpse Lights, a collection of nine pieces that guide us through five years of highs and lows without ever needing to say a word.  

Gothenburg 4-piece Blessings merges disparate ends of heavy guitar music into a cohesive sound, drowned in elements of hardcore, punk, crust and noise rock, with a sound that reminds of At The Drive In and Converge. The band members come from a DIY punk/hardcore background, having paid their dues in hard touring bands like Anchor, Scraps of Tape, Obstruktion, Amalthea and Gamla Pengar.
