Soul Mama proudly welcomes Clive Brown & Urban Sound for an unforgettable evening of powerful, contemporary gospel music in the heart of Stratford.

A towering figure in British gospel, Clive Brown has spent over four decades shaping the sound and spirit of the genre in the UK. Renowned for his dynamic musical direction, rich vocal arrangements and deep-rooted faith, Clive has trained generations of gospel singers and collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists including Meat Loaf, Mariah Carey, Shirley Caesar and the late Thomas Whitfield. His career spans landmark performances at Euro ’96, the West End production Mama, I Want to Sing, and countless stages across the UK and beyond.

Formed in 2019, Clive Brown & Urban Sound (CBUS) is a vibrant 20+ member choir bringing gospel into contemporary spaces while honouring its sacred roots. Known for their soulful harmonies, creative arrangements and heartfelt delivery, CBUS create an atmosphere that is both musically electrifying and spiritually uplifting.
Following the critically acclaimed release of their debut EP The Divine in 2023, standout appearances at the Premier Gospel Awards and Music & Arts Global, and a powerful live concert in May 2025, CBUS continue to build momentum as they prepare for the release of their first full-length album.
