Crime & the City Solution will return to Australia in January 2026 for their first comprehensive tour of the country in over a decade, bringing their critically acclaimed sixth studio album the killer to local audiences for the first time.

The six-date tour follows the band's exclusive Australian performance at Dark Mofo in June 2025, marking a significant return for the influential group originally formed by Simon Bonney in 1977. The acclaimed Australian band, whose nearly five-decade evolution from Sydney's post-punk origins through acclaimed periods in Melbourne, Berlin, and Detroit, has included notable collaborations with The Birthday Party's Mick Harvey and Rowland S. Howard.

The killer, released in October 2023 via Mute Records, represents the band's first album in over a decade and has garnered widespread critical acclaim. The album was recorded in Berlin with producer Martin J. Fiedler, marking the first time the band had collaborated with an outside producer. Critical reception has been consistently strong, with Uncut awarding it 7/10 and noting how it "captures a subtle gloominess, hopelessness and political bite brought out in moving and often tender songs." The record was ranked number 2 in Sun 13's Albums of the Year for 2023.

For the Australian tour, Crime & the City Solution will feature core members Simon Bonney, Bronwyn Adams and Joshua Murphy, with additional contributions from Ballarat-based musicians Tim Bignell and Corey Keem.

The tour represents a significant homecoming for Crime & the City Solution, whose nomadic artistic journey across multiple continents has brought them full circle back to their Australian origins.
