Dappled Cities return to the stage for two very special end of year shows, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough record, Granddance.
Written at the height of the indie revolution and recorded at Sunset Sounds with Jim Fairchild (Granddaddy) and Peter Walker (Dangerbird), Granddance epitomised the oblique lyricism, jangly guitars and off-kilter songwriting that came to define indie rock of the early noughties. Balancing playful melodies with unabashed epic grandeur, the album saw the band take to the global stage for the first time, earning them critical accolades from the likes of Stereogum and Pitchfork and placing them on stages alongside Modest Mouse, The Shins and LCD Soundsystem.
Over two nights, the band will play the entire album in full, alongside songs from their 30 year career. In addition, in celebration of this momentous occasion, Granddance will also be released on remastered vinyl for the very first time in a limited edition run.
Come revisit Granddance, hear the iconic songs that followed and see out your year in the most Dappled of Dappled ways.
