Acclaimed vocalist David Marino returns to Birdland on Monday, August 10 at 7pm with David Marino Sings Michel Legrand, an elegant new concert celebrating the extraordinary music of Michel Legrand. Accompanied by four world-class musicians and musically directed by Tedd Firth at the piano, Marino will explore Legrands beloved repertoire spanning chanson, jazz, and some of cinemas most unforgettable melodies.The evening will feature many of the iconic compositions that made Michel Legrand one of the most celebrated French composers in the world, including selections from The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, The Young Girls of Rochefort, Les Uns et les Autres, and the timeless classic The Windmills of Your Mind.A regular on the legendary Birdland stage and a Bistro Award winner, David Marino has emerged as an international breakout star. Since October 2025, Marino has been starring in the musical The Young Girls of Rochefort at Pariss historic Lido Theatre, performing the leading role of Maxence eight times a week to enthusiastic audiences and critical acclaim. His magnetic stage presence and distinctive vocal style have established him as a rising force on both American and European stages.Marinos upcoming projects include the 2027 U.S. tour World On A String: Swinging the Songs of Broadway, produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center. He is also currently developing three separate recording projects, including an album of newly arranged Michel Legrand compositions officially approved by the Michel Legrand estate in Paris.
