This intimate evening invites audiences into Miraa’s world through a relaxed fireside chat, exploring her journey as an independent artist, her creative process, and her impact on the UK and global R&B scene. Known for her honesty, warmth and thoughtful storytelling, Miraa will reflect on her career, influences, and the moments that have shaped her sound and vision.
The conversation will be followed by an exclusive live performance, where Miraa brings her signature blend of soulful vocals, contemporary R&B and understated elegance to the stage. MIRAA MAY
Miraa May is a London-based, Algerian-born singer, songwriter and creative force in the UK music scene. Born in Algeria and raised in Tottenham, North London, she grew up immersed in a multicultural environment that shaped her distinctive sound — a blend of R&B, soul, afrobeat and UK-influenced grit infused with elements of her Algerian heritage.
Miraa began her musical journey at a young age, developing her craft through a variety of music activities and songwriting before releasing her debut EP The Beginning in 2014, which garnered the attention of acclaimed producer Salaam Remi.
Over the years she released several projects including the EPs N15, Care Package and Dark, showcasing her genre-bending style and candid lyricism.
Her debut album Tales Of a Miracle (2022) marked a major breakthrough, earning three MOBO Award nominations — for Best Album, Best Female Act and Best R&B/Soul Act — and highlighting her powerful storytelling and emotional honesty. The album project was notable for its female-led creative team and featured collaborations with key UK artists such as RAYE, Mahalia, Dyo, Stefflon Don and Jorja Smith.
Beyond her solo work, Miraa is also respected for her songwriting credits, including co-writing on tracks like Jorja Smith & Burna Boy’s “Be Honest” and songs for artists such as Mahalia and Little Simz.
Her music often reflects themes of female empowerment, resilience and personal experience, and she continues to evolve as an artist with recent releases and ongoing creative projects
