Dom Martin is a Belfast born multi award winning artist, inspired but not constrained by the blues.
In 2019 he burst onto the music scene with a unique guitar style and voice, captivating audiences everywhere. His main musical influences are Rory Gallagher, Roy Buchanan, Tom Waits, John Martyn, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters.
With five BBC Radio live sessions prior to a first album release, BBC R2 Blues Show presenter Cerys Matthews described his work as “absolutely wonderful stuff.” Although primarily known as a solo acoustic artist and Dom is more than capable of holding a large audience on his own with his mesmerising techniques and strong vocal, he can also be accompanied by a band in larger venues and festivals.
With Covid -19 dominating 2020/21 and destroying the live music sector, one highlight was Dom and the band headlining the Official Rory Gallagher Online Festival to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his passing in June 2020. The show, compered by David “Kid” Jensen on the Official Rory Gallagher Facebook and YouTube pages has had around 95k views to date.
This unassuming musician is another fine product of the famous Belfast music factory responsible for Sir Van Morrison, Gary Moore, Paul Brady, Brian Kennedy, Foy Vance and many more.
