Three-time GRAMMY-winning trailblazer returns for headline shows and festival appearances
Three-time GRAMMY Award winner Fantastic Negrito will return to Australia in March 2026 for a run of special headline shows and festival performances, bringing his explosive energy, fierce storytelling and genre-bending sonic fire to audiences nationwide.
Fantastic Negrito’s journey is one of the most compelling in modern music. Raised in an orthodox Muslim household, he survived a doomed major label deal and a near-fatal car crash that permanently damaged his guitar-playing hand. But his remarkable resurgence began in 2015 when he won the inaugural NPR Tiny Desk Contest, launching a new chapter defined by artistic freedom, raw honesty and global acclaim.
Since then, Negrito has collected three GRAMMY Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Album, performed at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Newport Folk and WOMAD, and toured the world countless times. His collaborators range from Sting to E-40 to Tank and The Bangas, and he has shared the stage with Sturgill Simpson, Chris Cornell and Bruce Springsteen. Beyond music, he founded Revolution Plantation, an urban farm focused on youth education and empowerment.
Negrito’s latest album, Son of a Broken Man (2024), stands as one of his most personal and powerful works. Blending hard-hitting riffs, soul-drenched ballads and unexpected sonic twists, the album delves into themes of identity, deception and the complicated bonds between fathers and sons.
Australian fans will now have the chance to experience these songs live for the first time, alongside the magnetic performances and fiery musicianship that have earned Negrito his global reputation.
