Few voices in soul music carry the velvet richness and pure emotion of Luther Vandross and FiL Straughan knows exactly how to honour that legacy. Described by BBC Radio as “a powerhouse performer with a voice that melts the room”, FiL has spent years perfecting his craft, earning comparisons to the great man himself, not through imitation, but through pure, heartfelt performance.

An award-winning vocalist with a flair for soulful storytelling, FiL Straughan has shared stages with the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Kool & The Gang and The Drifters, bringing his signature charm and rich vocals to packed venues across Europe and beyond.

After dazzling ITV's Starstruck as a Lionel Richie impersonator, FiL was invited to Lionel’s own Beverly Hills mansion. Lionel sent FiL a personal message saying, “We just saw your performance, it's ridiculous. You did a great job … you did it too good, man.” That’s a nod from a soul legend himself and a powerful backing note under FiL’s mantle.
Expect those era-defining hits like “Never Too Much”, “Give Me the Reason” and “Stop to Love” alongside a few gems from the likes of Al Green and Marvin Gaye. Luther once said, “The best thing you can be is real” and that’s exactly what FiL brings - real soul, real charm, real music.
